We love granola at our house and, of course, it only made sense for me to learn how to make it at home. There is no way we could have afforded to buy it otherwise.
Here is our all-time favorite recipe for Peanut Butter Granola. Hubby even call it his “Friday cereal.” It is in no way original. I found the recipe over at Tammy’s Recipes. So many people have asked for the recipe that I figured I would just do a post on it.
Ingredients:
5-6 cups Old-Fashioned Oats (the amount varies for me)
6 Tablespoons Oil
1 Cup Peanut Butter (I have used creamy and crunchy with good results)
1 1/2 Cups Brown Sugar
Measure out your oats and put them in a great big bowl.
Is there anything better than simply a bowl of oats?
In a saucepan, melt together the oil and peanut butter on LOW heat. You want to do this slowly so it won’t burn.
Veggie Oil and Peanut Butter Melting Away
Once all the oil and peanut butter are melted and smooth, remove the pan from the heat and dump in all the brown sugar. Mix until thoroughly integrated.
Dump Away!
Dump the yummy mixture of oil, peanut butter, and brown sugar onto the big pile of oats. Stir until the oats are thoroughly coated. You may need to use your washed hands to really get the job done.
Mix It All Up!
Spread the granola onto a greased baking sheet and bake in a 350 degree oven for about 20 minutes. You may like it less than 20 minutes, but I like a pretty dried out granola. Stir about half way through cooking if you want to.
Ready for the oven
Once cooked, allow the pan to cool completely. Put into a tight container for storage. ENJOY!!!!!
Ready to be eaten
I am getting hungry just writing this post. YUMMY!
